Bay Area Martial Arts - To create the coolest experience for every student, every class!

Have you ever seen a traditional tatami mat?They�re super-cool, real traditional dojo stuff, and we get to train on them...everyday! And you can too!

At Bay Area Martial Arts we specialize in teaching adult self-defense and age specific martial arts for children as young as 3 years old. Whether you want to get fit, learn traditional martial arts moves, or watch your kids learn and grow we have a program for you.

Escrima -- a traditional Filipino martial art utilizing sticks -- is featured in our adult classes for a unique workout and an unbelievable new skill set.

Adrian DeSilva, Owner

Master Adrian prides himself on being a lifelong student of the martial arts and has been teaching for over 22 years. He has achieved multi level black belts in a wide range of styles.

Some of his rankings and areas of specialty include: 5th degree Black Belt in Kempo Karate, 3rd degree in Presas style of Arnis, 2nd Tohan in Latosa Escrima, Sifu and 3rd Technician in Ebmas Wing Tzun Kung Fu, 1st degree in Kali, Blue Belt in Brazilian Jujitsu, and Certified Vinyasa Yoga Flow teacher.

In 2004 Master Adrian was nominated for the Martial Arts Hall of Fame for outstanding contributions to the arts.

Master Adrian has been teaching martial arts since 1993, and founded Bay Area Martial Arts in 1998. He has spent the past 17 years dedicated to empowering his students -- children and adults -- with the physical and mental skills provided by martial arts training.

His approach to teaching adults is one of guided self-discovery. "You must be motivated, willing to work, and unafraid of success and sweat. Ultimately, training martial arts is about discovering who you are, one step at a time."
